holy crap!
looks like fun. Icey fun
It is! Going in 5 times tonight, it's warm now, 20 degrees. it was around 5 degrees when that picture was taken. My record is 3 and 1/2 minutes in the icehole, with yoga breathing of course. And a very hot sauna, 180 degrees.
The rumor is that at 5 minutes your body goes limp and someone has to lift you out. We'll see, one of these times, hehey. Re:Icey meditation

well the trick is you just keep going in the water as summer wains and fall takes over, then right through winter! And heating up in the sauna or sweat lodge at about 200 degrees helps too.
Going in tonight! the ice melted a couple of weeks back. I go in after my daily trail run too, but only when no chopping/sawing ice is necessary. The hole is cut with an electric chain saw, usually. But with a gas powered saw when it gets too thick in subzero weather. Re:Icey meditation

Hey, Hey, Hey... is this like the frog in the boiling pot? You go in every day through the summer, fall, late fall, winter and the temperture changes so slowly, you can't even feel the change in water temperture?? Hope your fate isn't the same as that poor ole' froggy!

It's been so many years I forgot how it felt to adapt to this temperature extreme, might be good to try and recall it. Thanks for the reminder!
