Could you say more about this scenario? How is it such changes would reverse anyting?

By eliminating our current sources of GHG to a larger and larger extent over 2 decades. And converting to organic agriculture and restoring drought/chemical stricken farm land back to natural prairie.

That will absorb huge amounts of GHG from the atmosphere. 1.8 tons of CO2 per acre per year for prairie. the same for oganic farm land if crop residue and organic fertilizer from the waste stream is returned to the soil.

Furthermore new findings indicate this will eliminate a huge amount of nitrous oxide from chemical fertiliser use, this gas is 296 times worse as a GHG than CO2.

The combination will start to reverse the GHG trend, until it finally levels off and begins to drop.

Definitely agricultural practices need to change, yet what you advocate (what I would call "Sustainable Agriculture) would seem to be bucking a population trend. In other words, there is more "natural land" being converted to food and fuel purposes.

Oh yeah it would buck the trend. Converting chem ag land back to live soil ecosystem, carbon sink, organic farmland. And conservation reserve land back to natural carbon sink prairie ecosystem.

Start with a new national park. A few thousand square miles of land used up by chemical farming. Restored as Prairie National Park. A tribute to Teddy Roosevelt, the founder of the national park system.

Farmers who sell land into the park would get commercial bison and other hunting rights in return and a fair price of course. As well as a chance to keep the farmstead within the park as a farm/resort.

The park could also host a thousand large 20 mw or larger wind machines to supply renewable power to the grid. A project like the hoover Dam project under FDR's new deal could build out this giant wind farm.

That's a stimulus plan, one that would end oil war with plugin hybrids charged up on the cheap, clean wind powered kwh. 75 cents for the equivalent miles traveled on a 3+ dollar per gallon of gas, bought with blood.

This is a big change, organic ag mechanized on a large scale, like modern agriculture but with electric tractors for instance, and huge quantities of liquid organic fertilizer from biodigestion of farm waste. And electric powered robotics replacing water wasting irrigation and herbicides/GMO and pesticides.

Robots roaming the field up and down the rows day and night using pinpoint liquid fertilizer and mulching weeds and harvesting fruit and vegetables.

Rotational grazing organic dairying and chicken farming. Happy free range Bison herds for meat eaters, instead of CAFO cattle cruellty.

A whole new computer driven organic ag industry that boosts good jobs and does the back breaking labor of organic farming with friendly renewable technology. Boosting productivity and qwuality of life. And cutting health care costs by eliminating chemical ag 'cides and antibiotics in the food chain.
