This article on the raising and horrible torture of dogs to produce fur collars for coats contains a video of dogs being skinned alive.  Don't watch it, but if you must get ready to stop it quickly.

I had to stop the video.  But still it was necessary to post the link.  I guess cruelty to dogs is the most identifiable for  humans.  Cruelty to other humans does not seem to have the same effect.  Strange but true.

Think of this when you want to buy a fur collared coat or any product from China.  Boycott chinese products forever, remember this video.  Modern chinese commercial corporate culture is not just sick, it is demented.   So is much of corporate culture around the planet.

Buy local, from responsible producers, as much of what you need as possible.  Global trade has become an excuse for horror, environmental and cultural, where has the light of illumination of the spirit gone?  Under a global corporate bushel basket.

Here's an ironic note on these fake racoon collars.  Real racoons here in the northwoods are overpopulated, ravaging loon nests amongst other brids.  Wolves that would prey on them and keep the population in check are just now returning.

A nice knitted scarf to breathe through in cold weather made from wool or better yet combed out extra dog fur from your own dog (it is very warm) beats that fur collar anyway, forget it.  There's a thought, a campaign to raise money for animal protection, selling scarves made from recycled dog fur and humane wool.
