It's a really nice touch, just add them frozen awhile before serving, they'll thaw nicely and still be crisp.  Don't forget to give a nod to civilan defense industry workers either, they came through for US especially during WW II.  Ask someone who was around at the time how it felt to have an enemy like the axis powers.

Contrast and compare with the comparatively puny threat we now face.  "Mushroom clouds" you say?  Germany was close to the bomb, and during the cold war we actually faced a nuclear threat.

So let's listen to those who lived through past life-as-we-know-it threatening times and do what they did back then.  Out manufacture the enemy.  The enemy happens to be US this time around.  or rather our habit of USing fossil fuel and threatening the climate.

And the habit of politicians to accept bribes to give tax breaks to companies that outsource jobs and outsource their mailing addresses to PO boxes offshore.

And the habit of blindly trusting corrupt, insider manipulated barely regulated "free" markets with our savings and investments.

How do we turn all that around with manufacturing?  Instead of making jeeps, liberty ships, tanks, planes, the atom bomb, etc..this time around.  We need to mass produce plugin hybrids, solar and wind power systems, smart grids, ground source heating/cooling systems,etc...that's how you beat recession, resource wars, and climate change.

And re-regulate these markets and we can have financial security, clean energy, peace, and even some prosperity!  A great way to honor the sacrifices of our veterans and workers!  Fullfill the potential of the nation they fought and worked so hard to defend.
