Just what I think about every time I get poison ivy lately, this time I consulted google.  And lo & behold there it is.

I had considered that the ability of poison ivy oil to activate the immune system might make it a very good treatment for cancer.  A microscopic glass bead soaked in the oil, then coated with a time release gel, inserted in a tumor could be used to emit levels of the oil on a homeopathic scale into the tumor.  Then the immune system could possibly begin to target the cells infused with the oil.

I'm looking further into this to see if this has been tried yet.  could it be tested in tissue culture grown in a petri dish?  Probably, then proof of the experimental results could be offered via web video.  It would make any positive findings harder to ignore on the opart of drug companies, research institutions, and the FDA.  Unfortunately treatments based on natural substances are generally suppressed unless a patentable drug can be synthesized.

Poison ivy oil will never be a rare or valuable substance.  Like a 4000 dollar per dose synthesized cancer drug favored by modern medicine.
