I think that a simple explanation without technical jargon would show that renewable energy is practical as a complete replacement for fossil and nuclear. The whole thing based on per capita energy consumption and extrapolation from known peformance of wind, solar, electric cars,and geothermal heat pumps verified by real world experience. It is surprising that no one has done it.
