It's true, just think what room temperature superconduction could do. Make solar PV cells 99% efficient? Make energy storage simple and inexpensive. Superconducting energy syotage could replace liquid fuel in a heartbeat were room temp possible. The whole world would be powered by renewable electricity. Even aircraft. A breakthrough in that field is very likely in the near future, but as you say, no one really can know.
